Located in Eastern North Carolina, the City of Goldsboro is the county seat of Wayne County. Conveniently located on US 70, Goldsboro is within 30 minutes of the I-40 and I-95 corridors.

Wayne County is governed by a commissioner-manager system consisting of 7 members elected for four-year terms. One commissioner is elected from each of six different voting districts in the County and one member is elected countywide.

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE Annexed to Goldsboro, North Carolina, near Raleigh, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, whose host wing is the 4th Fighter Wing, is home to the multi-role, all-weather F-15E Strike Eagle and provides worldwide deployable aircraft and personnel capable of executing combat missions in support of the Aerospace Expeditionary Force.

DOWNTOWN GOLDSBORO DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION The DGDC provides leadership dedicated to the improvement of Downtown Goldsboro by creating and facilitating downtown development, promotion and preservation activities. The DGDC strives to enhance the appearance, desirability and vitality of Downtown Goldsboro.

OLD WAYNESBOROUGH PARK Our park is located on the site of the former town of Waynesborough, the original seat of Wayne County from 1787 until 1847. The park consists of a village featuring nine historic buildings brought from across the county. These buildings, including a school, lawyer’s office, and Quaker Meeting House, date from the 1860’s to the 1920’s. In addition to the village we have over 150 acres along the Neuse and Little Rivers with over four miles of walking trails through open spaces, forest, and cypress swamp.
