There continues to be positive indicators in the housing market for Goldsboro Wayne County.  Yeah!  Activity continues to increase.  Pending sales pop up here and there.  Consumers seem to be encouraged by any bit of good news they hear.  Let's face it, there has been enough negative to last us a lifetime!

It looks as thought the stimulus package finally passed, with lots of difficulty after so much disagreement as to what was good to include Vs. what was not good.  With so many people involved with so many different opinions...too bad we can't see into the future.  If we could, we would all know what will work and what will not.  It has to be difficult to have all this resting on your shoulders.  Our law makers have an extremely difficult job.  It is easy for all of us to ridicule the decisions that are made, however, someone has to be willing to do the job...are we?  Let's all pray that we are moving in the right direction.

As a member of the Home Builders Association as well as the Association of Realtors, I am certainly impressed with our lobbyists who have represented us in trying to persuade our legislators to make decisions that will benefit our industry.  Even though it does not appear that we succeeded in getting our requests totally implemented, we did have a positive influence.  Even the small amounts of progress will affect our housing market in a manner that will be an upswing rather than a further decline.
